With Nordic nRF52810 SoC volume production, Raytac announced nRF52810 module MDBT42Q-P192K and MDBT42Q-192K will be available by 2017/11

Same as Nordic high end product, nRF52832 and coming nRF52840, nRF52810 is a BT5.0 SoC (Bluetooth Low Energy, as known as BLE).

Differ from nRF52832 which released in 2017, nRF52810 reduced peripheral set with smaller RAM and flash memory allocation to obtain the cost advantage. The target applications for nRF52810 includes network-connected sensors and beacon , simple function wearables, HID wireless products, toys, simple medical devices, or connectivity controllers as companions to much larger MCUs.

As nRF52810 is pin-to-pin designed to nRF52832 SoC, developers who early built the implements based on nRF52832 is likely to replace nRF52810 without further hardware works. Raytac’s MDBT42Q series modules also equip both nRF52810 and nRF52832 to fulfill the developers’ demand.

The most concern feedback for nRF52810 from developers is the downsized RAM from 64K to 24K and Flash Memory from 512K to 192K. To optimize the performance of nRF52810, Nordic introduced a lightweight stack S112 SoftDevice which only occupies 100kB only to ensure enough spare emory for application and OTA software upgrade function. Engineers now can immediately commence developing designs with the nRF52810 SoC and S112 SoftDevice using the latest version of Nordic’s nRF5 SDK v14.1 which is a production-ready development tool with full peripheral driver support for the nRF52810 SoC.
